Tis the Season to Give

12/11/2014 (Permalink)

In honor of our employees, our customers and our business partners we have made donations to:

Community Food Bank of South Jersey which serves Camden, Burlington, Gloucester & Salem Counties & Community Food Bank of New Jersey which serves Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland Counties

There are many people who struggle to make ends meet and put food on the table right in our own back yards. They need help at all times of the year but especially during the winter season.

These organizations support those truly in need and they help brighten this Holiday season for so many individuals.

We thank all of you and wish you and your families a great Holiday season!

The American Red Cross Breakfast of Champions

6/5/2014 (Permalink)

We were fortunate to have breakfast with these two young men this morning.  SERVPRO was able to sponsor the Bernal brothers, Ian, 12, and Daniel, 8, their parents and grandfather

at The American Red Cross Southern Shore Breakfast of Champions.  The brothers, from Egg Harbor Township, donate gifts on their birthday each year.  The boys encourage their friends to bring toiletry items in lieu of birthday gifts to their parties.  The boys then bring the items to the Red Cross to be used in assembling 'comfort kits; which get distributed to families when Red Cross assists families at residential fires.

The idea began six years ago when Ian Bernal was turning 6 years old, said his mother Elizabeth Bernal. A natural disaster was on the T.V. screen as well as information about efforts to help.

Elizabeth Bernal said it was around the time of his birthday and he said he wanted to help so the parents suggested the idea of collecting donations for a food bank, and he immediately agreed.

Younger brother Daniel followed in his brother’s footsteps and both are happy simply having the parties on their birthdays and spending time with friends rather than getting gifts.
